Description:
On September 11, 2016, about 5,000 contestants from Smithfield Dublin took part in the Great Dublin Cycling. The event offered a 60km route for those looking for a slightly less strenuous day on the seat and a challenging 100km route for experienced athletes. The event did not open to anyone aged under 16.

Highlighted as a good practice:
Cycling culture is growing and enables people of all ages and all target groups to be active in their day-to-day work. Together with cycling infrastructure, we need to stimulate these types of activities, which besides the active people contribute to the environment. It can be performed by a sports club, organization or municipality.
